Cacao fruit is naturally high in pectin and makes a sweet, citrusy, and refreshing jam; many people say it tastes a lot like lychee (and by the way, it doesn’t taste at all like chocolate). On its own, the jam brings out the pure flavor of the tangy fruit. Paired with juicy tropical fruits pineapple and passionfruit, the flavor is complex, light, and crisp. Enjoy these jams on toast or spooned into yogurt or ice cream, or serve them on a cheese plate or alongside roasted meats.
Eric Haeberli of welovejam makes these jams especially for us using just fruit, sugar, and the cacao fruit we source from San Pedro Sula, Honduras (our same partners who provide the cocoa beans for our Wampu, Honduras single-origin chocolate).
