OPEN CALL FOR 2025
COLLABORATORS

SUBMIT BY MARCH 15, 2025

Our annual Advent Calendar showcases confectionery creations from twenty-five highly acclaimed chocolatiers from coast to coast. Each daily surprise confection — such as a bonbon, a caramel, or several chocolate-covered nuts — is created using Dandelion chocolate, and is presented in its own giftable, chocolate-box “ornament.” Every decorated ornament-box is paired with a winter night-sky constellation or celestial event, detailed in the Calendar’s accompanying booklet.

This year, we’re offering an open call for chocolatiers to submit sample confections to be considered for inclusion in what will be our most elaborate Calendar yet. Learn more about our requirements and apply below.

How Our Application Process Works

STEP 1: CONTACT US

Please provide your contact information via the form below.

STEP 2: SHIP YOUR SAMPLES

Upon approval, applicants will receive a shipping address to which to send a batch of Calendar-themed samples (a 2025 theme description will be provided). Samples may be of any size, and may be accompanied by any other confections which illustrate your style and expertise. The wider range you show, the easier it will be for us to understand your strengths, and how your work might fit alongside others’ Calendar contributions.

STEP 3: BLIND TASTING

If your initial sample confections are accepted, we will request a second sample batch (containing one confection variety; minimum 15 pieces), made with Dandelion single-origin chocolate. A blind tasting will be held at Dandelion Chocolate in mid-March; confections will be reviewed and scored, and the 25 top-scoring confections will be included in our 2025 Advent Calendar.

Confections will be judged upon:
Flavor and texture
Expression of the chocolate origin
Originality
Appearance

“... absolutely stunning... The selection ranges from a maple roasted chestnut cup to a passion fruit caramel, and every one of them is special.”

– New York Times

“... it's worth the price just to sample chocolates from so many great chocolatiers”

– Marguerite Preston, Wirecutter

We opened our Advent Calendars today and we were absolutely blown away. From packaging, to artwork, to science, and oh you can use these as ornaments! Everything is just incredible.

Advent 2023

My Advent Calendar has brought me so much joy and happiness this month. The tie-in with astronomy has made it even more special. You guys outdid yourself this year!
