Ritual Coffee Gift Sets

Ritual Coffee Roasters

In many ways, we and Ritual Coffee Roasters have grown up together; two SF producers carefully sourcing the best beans we can find and building real partnerships around the globe to make delicious things in small batches. We and Ritual have something else in common, too. We’ve both noticed that coffee and chocolate taste really, really good together.

Together we now have a unique coffee and chocolate partnership focused on the origins from which Ritual sources coffee and we source cocoa. Ritual is roasting coffee beans to order just for us to serve in our cafés, and sourcing, roasting, and bagging beans only for sale in our shops.

Coffee bags marked “exclusive” will contain beans that Ritual has sourced and produced for us in micro-lots–meaning not more than 1,000 pounds of the beans are available.

You have your choice of two ways to celebrate Ritual coffee. In the Coffee and Chocolate Gift Set, we’ve paired two of our chocolate bars from the same origins as the coffee to create a fully immersive single-origin experience. In the Three-Coffee Gift Set, you’ll get to taste all three coffees that Ritual has selected for our partnership. Both come packed in a simple winter-themed gift box, and both contain an insert that outlines the pleasure of working with single-origin beans.

** About Each Coffee **
EVIN MORENO, HONDURAS
The Moreno family runs many farms in the hills to the south of El Cielito, but year after year, something keeps bringing us back to Evin’s coffees. He hand-picks his beans and this lot was carefully selected for its amazing cup quality. The combination of climate, perfect harvesting, and innovative processing made this offering far too good to mix in with the rest.

HUNAPÚ, GUATEMALA
Smallholder producers on the slopes of the Agua and Acatenango volcanoes have been growing coffee for hundreds of years. Most of these families are indigenous producers, who grow the traditional variety, Bourbón, using techniques and traditions passed down from
one generation to the next. Once harvested, the ripe cherries are delivered to local miller and exporter Bella Vista where they are processed in a modified washed manner, using an ecopulper to conserve the local area’s scarce water resources. The coffee is dried on raised
beds under a protective covering.

EL GUAMO, COLOMBIA
Near the town of La Plata in the Huila Department of Colombia, Benedicto Yara produces these Caturra varietal trees at 1780-1980 masl on his farm, El Guamo. This coffee is picked and then depulped and allowed to ferment for several hours. After rinsing away the remaining mucilage, the coffee is spread out on parabolic-covered mesh platforms. The covering protects the coffee from intermittent rains and insulates against dramatic swings in temperature. We specifically
selected this lot for its intense sweetness and enduring acidity. Look for flavors of sherbet, sugarcane, and tropical drinks.
