Our house-made hot chocolate has been a café favorite since our earliest days, when we dreamed of concocting a perfect hot drink to ward off San Francisco’s perpetually foggy chill. This season we’ve created a beautifully boxed trio of flavorful hot chocolate mixes to whisk up at home with fresh milk, cream, or dairy alternative. Three delicious single-origin chocolate mixes, contained in elegant reusable glass vials designed just for us by talented industrial designer (and Dandelion friend) Remy Labesque, are ready to taste, share, gift, and compare.  

This collection includes three 5.6-ounce bottles of hot chocolate mix, enough to make 12 servings, plus recipe instructions for each mix. We highly recommend adding marshmallows.

House: 70% Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate (cocoa beans, organic cane sugar), light brown sugar

Mission: 70% Ambanja, Madagascar chocolate (cocoa beans, organic cane sugar), light brown sugar, allspice, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, pasilla chile

Hojicha: 70% Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate (cocoa beans, organic cane sugar), light brown sugar, roasted green tea

House Mix

Our House Hot Chocolate mix is crafted from our fudgy 70% Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate, and makes for creamy drinks that are rich and profoundly chocolatey.

Mission Mix

With a bit of a spicy kick, the Mission Hot Chocolate mix pays homage to our home in San Francisco’s Mission District.

Hojicha Mix

Our unique Hojicha Hot Chocolate, a Dandelion Japan café staple made with delicately roasted green tea, features subtle smoky notes and a smooth finish.

TRUFFLE COLLECTION

 

With just cream and a tiny amount of cocoa butter, the characteristic flavors of each origin shine through. The simple square shape, pure ganache, and thin shell keep the focus on the single-origin chocolate. After months of experimenting, Annie and Ashley have perfected this velvety, creamy truffle, the first in our Dandelion confections collection.

 

 

GÂTEAU BASQUE

 

Our Gâteau Basque combines the greatest elements of a pie, tart, cookie, and brownie in a delectable treat incredible at any temperature. Hailing from Basque country, it is simply called “cake of the house” by locals. A buttery, delicately crisp and slightly soft crust encases smooth chocolate pastry cream. Our Gâteau highlights one of our favorite origins: 70% Camino Verde.

 

TOKYO & SF COLLECTION

 

This set presents a rare opportunity to experience the intriguingly different flavors brought out by our two culturally distinct teams of craft chocolate makers. We recommend comparing the taste of each San Francisco bar directly with its Tokyo counterpart of the same origin. Both bars are made using the same beans, the same philosophy, and the same basic process – with slightly varied roast profiles.
