For the first time ever, we’ve paired our single-origin chocolate bars with two confections for an exploratory tasting experience. Compare side-by-side the complex flavors of cocoa beans grown and fermented in different origins, appreciate the chocolates’ varied flavor notes alone, and then savor the unexpected new tastes that emerge when single-origin chocolate is paired with complementary versions of rich, buttery toffee.

Our first pairing emphasizes the subtle honey and sweet butter flavors. Dandelion’s classic Nib Toffee, a long-time favorite developed by our Executive Pastry Chef, Lisa Vega, is made with our Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate. The chocolate-coated toffee is covered with crunchy, nutty Costa Esmeraldas, Ecuador roasted nibs, and pairs perfectly with our 70% Wampu, Honduras single-origin chocolate bar, which features notes of macadamia and honeycomb.

The second pairing highlights strong, toasted, nutty flavors. NeoCocoa’s crisp Black Sesame Toffee Brittle is a unique twist on a brittle made with our Camino Verde, Ecuador chocolate, and sprinkled with toasted black sesame seeds and a pinch of sea salt. Christine Doerr, owner of NeoCocoa, received a Good Food Award this year for her brittle, and we showcase it here with our 70% Cahabon, Guatemala bar, which has prominent flavors of nuts and toasted sesame.
