We layer chocolatey devil's-food cake with smooth, tangy apricot caramel; and a center layer of silky chocolate pistachio praline buttercream melds beautifully with the bright, juicy taste of apricot. Enrobing the cake's exterior, a delicate buttercream flecked with apricot lekvar (sweet, Hungarian-style fruit butter) harmonizes every flavor, while crushed toasted pistachios and pressed flowers offer an elegant finish.
These cakes are made to order, and require 48-hour advance ordering (for pickup, Monday through Friday).
This six-inch cake serves eight to 10, and is best enjoyed within one week. Please keep refrigerated, and bring to room temperature about 20 to 30 minutes before serving.
