Dandelion Chocolate
After five years of planning and renovations, we opened our 16th Street Chocolate Factory in 2019. The century-old brick building, converted from a former print shop, covers almost a city block near the north edge of San Francisco’s Mission District. Inside, visitors inhale the heady scent of molten chocolate, hear cocoa beans rattle and roast, watch chocolate makers in action, sift handfuls of dried beans, and sample every form of cocoa product — from tangy fresh cacao fruit to smooth finished chocolate. Our 16th Street Factory is the new heart of Dandelion chocolate making, where single-origin cocoa beans become two-ingredient chocolate.
This collection celebrates bean-to-bar chocolate both in pure form and in decadent collaborations. You’ll experience five confections crafted by our longtime friends at San Francisco-based Feve Chocolates: buttery Sea Salt Caramels, crunchy Chocolate-Covered Nibs, sweet-salty Chocolate-Covered Caramelized Almonds, Chocolate-Covered Caramelized Hazelnuts, and Chocolate-Covered Espresso Beans (created with beans from Ritual Coffee Roasters). You’ll also enjoy assorted Dandelion classics — a Five-Bar Tasting Set, plus our Hot Chocolate Mix Trio, which showcases our café-style House Hot Chocolate Mix alongside two in-house mixes featuring elegant flavor pairings.

Savor café-style drinks with our Hot Chocolate Mix Trio: Our classic House Hot Chocolate is rich, subtly sweet, and deeply chocolatey. Our Mission Hot Chocolate takes notes from traditional Mexican spiced hot chocolate, blending bright, fruity 70% Ambanja, Madagascar chocolate with cinnamon, allspice, cayenne pepper, and pasilla chile; and our Hojicha Hot Chocolate features the subtle smoky notes and smooth, creamy finish of Hojicha, a Japanese green tea that is steamed, rolled, dried, and then skillfully roasted over charcoal.

Cara Mathis is a pen-and-ink artist living in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where she combines her loves of architecture and doodling to create black-and-white keepsakes of her favorite people, places, and things. Cara hand-sketched the illustrations for all of our Flagship Collection gift boxes, and we are charmed by her playful, elegant depictions of each Dandelion location.
